FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where?
Wheeling Heritage Port, 1200 Water St Wheeling, WV 26003
How much does it cost?
The Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta is FREE!
It’s raining so you canceled right?
We don’t cancel just because of a little rain! If we choose to cancel, it’s because the river conditions are just too dangerous. The safety of our boaters and the public is much too important to us. As long as our referees feel that the river is safe, we will do everything we can to have the boats in the water for you!
How about parking?
Although the section of Water Street directly above Heritage Port will be closed to traffic during the events, parking is available on all other city streets. It is also available at the Robert C. Byrd Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC), a two-bay wide parking structure on six supported levels plus grade, which features 850 parking spaces, a pedestrian bridge, and the National Park Service Visitor Information Center. It is immediately adjacent to Wheeling Heritage Port.
How do I volunteer to help out?

Where are the bathrooms?
Porta Johns are located at the top of Heritage Port across the street and at the top of the south steps coming out of Heritage Port, as well as in the pits.
Is the Regatta handicap accessible?
Yes. Wheeling Heritage Port has a handicap accessible ramp located on your right when facing the Ohio River.

If you are coming from the east, take Interstate 70 to Exit 1A immediately beyond the Wheeling Tunnel. Be sure you are in the right lane going through the Tunnel, and exit to the right. The exit ramp has 2 lanes; you may use either lane for the left turn at the end of the ramp. Once you have turned left, you are on Main Street. Follow Main Street to 12th Street, approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right at 12th and Main, and Heritage Port is immediately in front of you.

You will receive a parking pass and a designated place to park one vehicle in these lots. We ask that you park any other support vehicles on Main Street or in the parking garage on 14th Street.
